What is Clubmark?

Clubmark

The Old Chelmsfordians CC is a cricket club in Chelmsford which, in July 2008, was awarded Clubmark accreditation by the Essex County Cricket Board. We have continued to receive this award following further inspections from Essex, the most recent being in 2019. This involved an examination of our approach towards developing the club (particularly our youth section) as well as the procedures in place.

Clubmark is a prestigious award which is recognition by the ECB of Old Chelmsfordians CCs' ongoing commitment to:

        -       A safe environment in which children can learn cricket;

        -       Appropriately qualified coaches;

        -       All necessary DBS checks have been conducted;

        -       The Club has a dedicated Code of Conduct for Members and Guests;

        -       The Club has a dedicated Code of Conduct for Young Players;

        -       The Club has adopted the ECB's "Safe Hands" policy regarding child welfare;

        -       There is a dedicated Club Welfare Officer who deals confidentially with any child welfare issues;

        -       Appropriate knowledge of Child Protection issues;

        -       An open, non-discriminatory policy to recruiting new members;

        -       There is a dedicated Youth Cricket Manager (Mark Bowerman) and Youth Development Officers for developing young talent; and

        -       A Club Development Plan.

We are thrilled that the ECB has recognised all our efforts.
